KIC Survey:
A community survey was conducted with three primary objectives:
To gather information on the preparations and challenges that Kansas families and individuals faced in anticipation of potential deportation-related separations.
To provide families and individuals in Kansas with resources for creating safety plans in response to the risk of deportation-related separation.
To assess the emotional, social, and economic impacts of both actual and anticipated deportation-related separations on Kansas communities.
Through this survey, participants helped us better understand the lived realities, fears, and needs of families across the state. We deeply appreciate the willingness of respondents to share their experiences, especially given the sensitivity of the topic.
The survey was open to adults 18 and older and available in both English and Spanish. While age and immigration status were required to preserve the integrity of the data, all other questions were optional. Responses were anonymous, and no personally identifiable information was collected. The information gathered will continue to inform and strengthen our advocacy and support efforts across Kansas.
We encourage you to review the full survey results, which include thematic summaries, visual data, and powerful community quotes. These findings reveal the challenges Kansas families face and highlight the urgent need for safety planning, mental health resources, and equitable policy change.
